DALLAS TWP. — District Judge James Tupper swore in Sherri Newell, Charles Preece and Karen Kyle as members of the Dallas School Board at Monday night’s reorganization meeting.
Jeff Thomas was absent and will be sworn in next Monday night.
After the swearing-in, Larry Schuler was elected as board president. The board also elected Catherine Wega as board vice president, Nancy Merihew as secretary and Sherri Newell as assistant secretary.
Colleen Slocum was elected as representative to the West Side Career and Technology Center board.
All elections were unanimous with Thomas being absent.
First and second Mondays were selected as the board’s meeting times. July will have only one meeting on the 14th, and September meetings will be Sept. 8 and Sept. 15 to avoid a conflict with Labor Day.
Newell was appointed as representative to the Parent Advisory Council and Preece as representative to the Back Mountain Library Board.
