SCRANTON—Donny Jackson-Bey ran for 68 yards on 14 attempts and scored a touchdown to lead the NEPA Miners to a 17-7 win over the Chambersburg Cardinals. The Miners are now 5-1, with a 4-1 league record, and will face undefeated Central Penn at Ed Edwards Field at Lake- Lehman after a bye next week. Central Penn is the only team to beat the Miners this season, by a score of 21-14.
Kelvin Robinson threw a touchdown pass to Jeremy Kendrick in the second quarter and the two-point conversion run by Matthew Pfanbook was good to give the Miners an 8-7 lead. Kendrick caught three passes for 54 yards.
The Miners scored a safety in the fourth quarter when Chamberlain running back Andre McDonald fumbled and the ball went out of the back of the end zone as players from each team tried to fall on it. The defense gave up only 158 yards on the day and had five sacks and three interceptions.
Chambersburg scored its only touchdown in the first quarter on a 15-yard run by Cory Furman.
