Ellen (Walters) Moore, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning at the Davis Manor, Mountain Top.
Born and raised in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ellen Raub Walters, and the wife of the late William J. Moore Sr. She was a devoted housewife who took great pride in caring for her family, friends, home and neighbors.
She and her late husband were lifelong, active members of the Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church and the church community. Ellen would have celebrated her 100th birthday on October 21 of this year.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by her sisters Jennie and Thelma; brothers Frank, William and George; and daughter-in-law Josephine Walsh Moore.
Surviving are a son, William J. Moore Jr., Mountain Top; three grandchildren, Gary Moore, Plains; Susan Moore Gawelko, Mountain Top; and Ellyn Moore Herrington and her husband Richard, Mountain Top; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister Miriam Klinetob, Tunkhannock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, Plymouth. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to the Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, Plymouth.
