EXETER — Borough police nabbed four males less than 24 hours after they allegedly went on a vandalism spree early Thursday morning.
One 15-year-old juvenile and three men older than 18 were arrested around 9:30 p.m. Thursday after reports of four suspicious males walking in the area of Whitlock and Wilson streets in Exeter, Exeter police Sgt. Leonard Galli said.
Police found the males who fit the description, searched them and found weapons including BB guns and knives in their pockets, Galli said. One admitted to slashing tires the night before in Exeter, West Pittston and Wyoming, Galli said.
Earlier Thursday, Wyoming Borough Mayor Bob Boyer issued a press release that at least tires on 24 cars had been slashed on Moosic Street, Wyoming Avenue, Atherton Avenue, Institute Street and in the Midway Shopping Center parking lot. A home window was also smashed. Wyoming police estimate the vandalism occurred between 1 and 5 a.m.
Two of those arrested will be lodged at county prison, Galli said. The juvenile was to be released to his parents pending charges, and the fourth, who Galli said played a minimal role and cooperated, was to be released with a summons.
