Glenn Steele Jr., M.D., president and chief executive officer of Geisinger Health System, again has been named to the Congressional Budget Office’s panel of health advisers.
Steele, who has participated as an adviser since 2012, is one of 22 nationwide experts in the field of health care named to the panel that includes former Utah Gov. Michael Leavitt, Massachusetts Institute of Technology economics professor Amy Finkelstein and Harvard Medical School health care policy professor Michael Chernew, among others.
“The CBO’s panel of health advisers is an esteemed group of knowledgeable, innovative, experienced individuals within the health care field,” said Steele. “The group provides a superb environment for an exchange of ideas and strategies that can potentially change – for the better – the way American medical professionals deliver care.”
Since its founding in 1974, the CBO has produced independent analyses of budgetary and economic issues to support the Congressional budget process.
