WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following incidents:
• Egerton C. Wood, 31, of Arch Street, Wilkes-Barre, was charged Tuesday with burglary, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, false imprisonment and two counts of simple assault for allegedly forcing his way into a Dana Street house and assaulting a woman on Jan. 5.
Wood was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
A woman known to Wood claimed he forced his way into her residence and assaulted her. She agreed to have sex with Wood believing he would stop punching her.
Wood stopped having sex with the woman calling her derogatory names. He punched her in the head several times and attempted to force her to get into his vehicle.
The woman escaped when her roommate ran after Wood, the criminal complaint says.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31 in Central Court.
• Sherry Gardner, of Kingston, reported someone stole approximately 50 compact discs from her 2000 Chevrolet while it was parked in the area of 62 S. Franklin St. on Monday.
• Theresa Mitchell, of South Sheridan Street, reported someone smashed a window at her residence with a brick on Tuesday.
• Police said someone spray painted graffiti on a truck-tractor and ignited a mattress inside the vehicle that was parked on Stevens Road on Tuesday.
