WILKES-BARRE — A city woman charged with delivering heroin was sentenced in Luzerne County Court to state prison on Friday.
Judge David W. Lupas sentenced Vanessa Gamble, 36, last known address as Charles Street, to 14 to 22 months in state prison. Gamble pleaded guilty to the delivery of heroin charge on Jan. 13.
City police served a search warrant at Gamble’s residence on Charles Street on July 12, finding 134 heroin packets stamped High Risk, crack cocaine, $1,424, four cell phones, a scale and packaging materials, according to the criminal complaint.
WILKES-BARRE — A city man charged with fleeing police and possessing crack cocaine was sentenced Friday in Luzerne County Court.
Judge David W. Lupas sentenced Albert Raymond Alberto, 25, known as Hollywood, last known address as Elm Street, to 18 to 36 months in state prison on charges of flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine.
Alberto initiated a pursuit when he failed to stop for city police when he failed to stop at a stop sign at North Pennsylvania Avenue and North Washington Street on June 30, 2013. Alberto traveled into Kingston and back into Wilkes-Barre where he abandoned his vehicle in the area where he failed to stop for a stop sign, according to the criminal complaint.
Alberto ran on foot and was captured in a rear yard on North Franklin Street. A bag of crack cocaine was found next to him, the complaint says.
