An Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Thursday, April 10, at the Pittston Active Adult Center, 441 North Main Street, Pittston. Easter eggs filled with many surprises will be hidden throughout the center.

The Easter Special Dinner & Raffle will be held on Tuesday, April 15. Dinner reservations must be made at least one day in advance. An asking donation of $2 is requested. The raffle will take place following dinner.

A Zumba Gold class is now being held on Tuesdays from 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with Tony Balucha, certified Zumba Instructor. If you want to get physically fit and love to dance but hate to exercise this class is for you. Classes are open to adults 50 years of age or older. Cost for Center members is $2 per class and non-member is $3 per class.

Reservations are now open for the following trips:

Four seats are available for a day trip to Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster on Wednesday, June 18. Cost is $115 which includes the new production of “Moses”, Dinner at Miller’s Smorgasbord, and Motorcoach transportation.

Sunday, July 27 — Woodloch Pines Resort. Cost is $70 which includes motorcoach transportation, sweet bread upon arrival, fabulous all you can eat smorgasbord, boat rides and variety show.

An AARP Driver Safety Course will be offered at the Center on Friday, April 25. This will be a 4-hour refresher course. You must have taken an 8-hour course previously to register for this class. The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch may be ordered in advance for an asking donation of $2.

By taking this course you may be entitled to a discount on your automobile insurance. Cost of this class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non- members. Pre-registration is necessary by calling the Center at (570) 655-5561.

The Pittston Active Adult Center is located at 441 North Main Street, Pittston. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New members are always welcome to come aboard. Free coffee is served from 8:30 a.m. to closing. The center now has wi fi available as well as three computers with internet access.


The next Cosmopolitan Seniors meeting will be Tuesday, April 15, in St. Anthony’s Center at 1 p.m. Hosts/hostesses are: Lou Bryja, Marie Cheskiewicz, Rosalie Ferrara, Edith Jones, and Vic Malinowski.

A trip to Mount Airy Casino has been changed to Wednesday, April 30, with pickups in Exeter and Pittston. Included in the trip is a free Buffet and free slot tournament for those people 55 years of age or older. You do not have to be a club member to attend the trip.
