READING — UGI Utilities, Inc. will recognize and celebrate the commitment of its employees to the communities served by the company during National Volunteer Week, which begins today.
UGI employees devoted more than 40,000 hours of volunteer service in 2013, benefiting organizations such as Reading Is Fundamental, the United Way, the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, local food banks and many other local and regional organizations.
As part of UGI’s celebration of National Volunteer Week, the company will conduct efforts to support animal shelters located within the company’s service territory. UGI employees will conduct a drive to collect food, blankets and cleaning supplies for local animal shelters. Items collected in the north area will be donated to the Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, Dallas; Haven to Home Canine Rescue, Milton; and the SPCA of Clinton County, Lock Haven.
