HARRISBURG — The Department of State took disciplinary actions against 114 licensed or commissioned professionals and organizations during the month of March, Secretary of the Commonwealth Carol Aichele announced recently.


Actions affecting local individuals or businesses include:


• Kevin H. Smith, of Jenkins Township, was ordered by the Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists to pay a civil penalty of $1,800 and was suspended for 45 days because he was found guilty of misconduct in the practice of engineering.


• Wyoming Homes Inc., of Wilkes-Barre, had its license indefinitely suspended and was assessed a $500 civil penalty by the state Board of Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers and Salespersons because the company was found to have violated a board order.


• Jeffrey P. Banik, of Forty Fort, had his license revoked and was assessed a civil penalty of $1,000 by the state Board of Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers and Salespersons based upon his criminal convictions for felony crimes of moral turpitude.
