DALLAS — The Road Department will begin weekly curbside yard waste collection on May 12, weather permitting. Residents are not to place yard waste recycling containers curbside before the start of the collection.


The equivalent of two 25-gallon recycling containers will be collected weekly. Containers are to be curbside Monday morning. Yard waste greater than 25 gallons or containing rocks, road cinders, ashes or animal waste will not be collected. Acceptance or rejectionis at the discretion of Road Department personnel and Dallas Borough Administration.


There is a $25 annual permit required for participation, available at the Borough Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.


Property owners with a large volume of yard waste are to make arrangements with a private hauler or contact the Dallas Area Municipal Authority, 570-696-1133, for drop-off site locations.
