DALLAS — The borough’s Summer Recreation Program will begin on June 15 and run through Aug. 14, the Borough Council announced Wednesday.

The program will be held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kenneth Young Memorial Park on Burndale Road. Dallas Borough and Dallas Township children between the ages of six and 12 can participate and registration is required.

In related business, the council accepted the resignation of Olivia Magni from the position of part-time recreation counselor for the 2015 summer program, effective May 13, and approved the hiring of Ryan Zapoticky to the same position at $8.25 per hour, pending appropriate clearances.

The council announced the borough was reimbursed $64,308 in the form of a Local Share Assessment grant through the Back Mountain Community Partnership for a recently purchased street sweeper.

The council also voted to participate in a Back Mountain Regional Police Consolidation Study, which will be conducted by the state Department of Community and Economic Development Governor’s Center for Local Government Services.

The annual Memorial Day Parade, conducted by the Daddow-Isaac American Legion Post 672, will be held on Monday beginning at 9 a.m.
