The local average gas price dipped slightly overnight, while the state and national averages held the line.

AAA Mid-Atlantic provided the following data for today’s average gas prices:

• Wilkes-Barre area gas average at $2.72 today, down a penny overnight and down 5 cents in the last week. Diesel at $3.07 today, down a penny overnight.

• Pennsylvania gas average at $2.81 today, unchanged overnight and down 4 cents in the last week. Diesel at $3.10 today, down a penny overnight.

• National gas average at $2.75 today, unchanged overnight, down 3 cents in the last week. Diesel at $2.79 today, down a penny overnight.
