It was a good day to be at the city-owned Hollenback Golf Club in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday except for one thing — the course was closed. Despite a sign posted in the pro shop window, some golfers shouldered their bags or wheeled them along the nine-hole course. With no one there to collect it, golfers didn’t have to pay the $10 greens fee. City police put a stop to the free golf late in the afternoon, telling those on the course to leave.
