TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. (AP) — State police say two township police officers are recovering from minor injuries after a drunken driver’s pickup truck hit their police cruiser early Sunday.

Troopers from the Tunkhannock barracks say 29-year-old Adam Emmi failed to properly make a right turn and crossed into the other lane where he hit the Tunkhannock Township police car about 1:40 a.m. Sunday.

Police say two officers, 27-year-old Cory Sidorek and 34-year-old Edward Moristell suffered minor injuries when their 2008 Ford Crown Victoria was hit by Emmi’s 2011 Toyota Tundra.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Emmi, who was taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving.

Emmi and both officers involved are all from Tunkhannock, which is about 20 miles northwest of Scranton.
