John D. von Bergen, 71, formerly of Clarks Green and a resident of Gainesville, Va., died Jan. 9, in Prince William Hospital Manassas. He was the husband of Kwon Sim Kim Von Bergen.
Born January 24, 1939 in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and the late Beulah (Greene) Von Bergen. He was a graduate of Scranton Prep and Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
He is survived by two sons, James Von Bergen, Germantown, Tenn.; and John Von Bergen of San Diego, Ca.; a daughter, Kim Golanski of Gainesville, Va.; a brother, Drew Von Bergen of Alexandria, Va.; and six grandchildren.
The memorial Mass will be celebrated for John and his mother Beulah Von Bergen Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 South State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Forest Hills Cemetery in Dunmore.
