Kathleen Cavuto, 89, died April 3, 2010, at the Golden Living Center-Summit, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Italy on March 3, 1921, she traveled to the United States with her parents, the late Marino and Concetta Cavuto. The family settled in West Wyoming, where she lived her entire life. She was a talented pianist and was awarded a full scholarship to attend College Misericordia. She graduated with a dual major in music and elementary education. She combined her love of music and teaching through her whole career. “Miss Cavuto,” as she was known by the thousands of students who passed through her kindergarten class in West Wyoming schools and later Wyoming Area schools, taught for over 40 years. She also taught piano in her home to many students in the area. She was member of the Shoemaker United Methodist Church, West Wyoming.
Funeral service was April 9 in the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, Wyoming, with the Rev. William N. Lukesh of the Forty Fort Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.
