KINGSTON — An accountant presented positive findings of the 2012-2013 audit at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Luzerne Intermediate Unit’s Board of Directors.
“The unit demonstrated compliance with federal standards and no deficiencies were noted,” said Joe Aliciene. “The results are very good.”
In another matter, the board announced the approval of its 2013-2014 general operating budget by member school districts.
“With nine member districts already approving this budget, it will definitely be ratified,” said Executive Director Tony Greico.
Greico invited the board and the public to a Transition Opportunities Reception today. The event will provide opportunity for students served by the unit to learn about vocational and life skills programs available for post secondary needs.
“This event will showcase opportunities within the community available to assist students in future educational and transitional needs,” said Greg Koons, director of special education.
Gerry McGroarty, pediatric liaison for Bayada’s Home Health Care, told the board about nursing services available in a school setting.
