A Blessing of the Hands Breakfast, hosted by Hospice of the Sacred Heart, was held Thursday, May 2 at 8:30 a.m. at Al Mia Amore, Dickson City to honor all the caregivers, health care professionals, social workers, and volunteers who tend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the terminally ill.

The ceremony honored those who have touched and embraced life with compassion, those that have drawn blood and administered medicine and those that have comforted the dying.

“We wanted to show appreciation for our whole staff and thought that the National Day of Prayer was the perfect day to hold our annual blessing of the hands,” Chief Executive Officer of Hospice of the Sacred Heart Diane Baldi said.

The blessing was given by Father Genaro Aguilar, CSA and Father Gregory Finn, OSJ at a participatory ceremony.
