JENKINS TWP. — A number of area bikers came out to the Susquehanna Brewing Co. on Saturday in support of Project Fallen Ride to benefit local law enforcement officers.

The event was organized by Gunner’s PA, a local motorcycle club that sponsors several bike rallies throughout the year to benefit law enforcement officers and their families.

The fundraiser featured a two-hour motorcycle ride through the area, tours of the brewery, refreshments, as well as live entertainment by local band Iron Cowboy.

“This is our second year holding Project Fallen Ride,” said Gunner’s Vice President Alinn Kirchner. “We had 75 riders register for the run last year and expect about that many today.”

Kirchner said that more than 50 percent of the group’s membership is composed of law enforcement officers and first responders from throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

He said that “many people serving in the law enforcement field have been hard hit in the recent difficult economy.”

The organizers said they want to thank all the volunteers and donors who offered time, money and services to make the event a success.
