KINGSTON — Police said a 1-year-old boy was inside vehicle when his grandmother and a man allegedly sold a large amount of heroin and prescription pills on Wednesday.

Police arrested Alfred S. Singleton Jr., 46, of Hazleton, and Shalette Jones, 43, of Drums, early Wednesday night when police and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force set up a meeting to purchase heroin on Wyoming Avenue.

Singleton arrived at the location driving a vehicle occupied by Jones and her grandson, police said.

Police allege Singleton sold $500 worth of heroin and 20 Xanax tablets while Jones changed the toddler’s diaper.

They were arrested during a traffic stop after the alleged drug transaction, police said.

Police said Jones was found concealing marijuana and crack cocaine in her bra.

Singleton was arraigned Thursday morning on multiple drug offenses stemming from alleged heroin sales Wednesday night and on July 29 and July 30. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 bail.

Jones was charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a single count of possession of a controlled substance. She was jailed for lack of $75,000 bail.
