WILKES-BARRE — City police investigating gunfire in the area of Scott and Pine streets discovered a house was struck by a round early Thursday morning.

Police said they responded to the area at about 1:15 a.m. for gunshots. Witnesses told police a silver sedan was stopped at a traffic signal when a passenger stuck his arm out an open window and fired multiple shots from a pistol.

The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Scott Street, police said.

Police said a residence in the area was struck by a round.

Witnesses told police the passenger was a black man.

No injuries were reported.
