WRIGHT TWP. — The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Monday to settle a grievance filed by township police officer Brian Macko for heart-and-lung medical benefits in the amount of $2,383.44.

According to township officials, the settlement cannot be seen as an admission of fault by the township in any future proceeding.

In other business, the supervisors:

• Agreed with a Recreation Board request to hire several part-time seasonal employees for the summer parks program at hourly wages between $7.25 and $10 per hour.

• Awarded a $4,900 contract to Celebration Fireworks Inc., of Kutztown, for the township’s 2013 Independence Day display.
