NUANGOLA — The project engineer told the borough sewer authority on Monday night about weather-related setbacks for the borough’s sewer project.

Dan Loughran, project engineer of the Quad3 Group of Wilkes-Barre , said one of the primary contractors, Wexcon, had to “roll back” a destination point for the extensive project. Loughran said that by Aug. 15 Wexcon plans to be at Nuangola Road and Lake Street, instead of farther northwest on Nuangola Road.

Loughran said recent heavy rains have caused construction delays, thus necessitating a destination point change. He said, however, that a completion date of Sept. 15 remains and residents can begain the process of tying into the system.

Overall, Loughran reported that Wexcon’s phase is 54 percent complete.

In other discussions:

- Ted Vancosky, treasurer, said that according to his figures engineering costs for the project are $140,000 over budget.

- Vancosky said there remains more than $280,000 in the bridge loan with Fulton Bank.

- There was extensive comment about a letter for public distribution that will outlining procedures and penalties.

- An insurance pact with DGK Insurance was approved with a yearly premium of $2,615 for general coverage and $377 for worker’s compensation.
