WILKES-BARRE - City police filed rape charges against William Esser, 27, of Kingston, accusing him of sexually assaulting a woman in the Intermodal Parking Garage in June.
Police said Esser had custody of a 4-year-old boy at the time and made the boy sit in a corner on steps when he allegedly assaulted the woman.
Esser is also facing similar charges by Hanover Township police that involves the sexual assault of another woman in the Hanover Crossings Corporate Park on July 1. Esser picked up the woman near Public Square and drove her to the corporate park where he forced the woman to perform a lewd sex act, according to arrest records.
City police allege Esser used the boy to gain the woman’s trust and “lure” her to the parking garage on June 24 when he raped her.
Charges of rape and sexual assault were filed against Esser with District Judge Martin Kane. Esser remains jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 bail on the charges filed by township police.
