Members of the congregation at St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre should hear a difference when the organ plays this Sunday. Thanks to work completed by Steve Sykes and David Kocman this week, the organ will have 317 additional pipes from the ‘great division’ added to the 901 pipes already installed in the ‘swell division.’

Eventually, the organ will have 2,138 pipes in all, including some as tall as 16 feet and some as small as a pencil.

Crafted by the M.P. Moeller company, the organ served St. Casimir’s Church in Pittston for decades and is being rebuilt by Crossin Savage Inc. of Cedars, Pa.
