Power disrupted in parts of county
   
High winds and lightning knocked out power in more than 3,200 homes
throughout
    Luzerne County Tuesday afternoon, UGI Utilities Inc. spokesman Joseph Rymar
saidRymar said most of the homes lost power between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. UGI
restored power to all but 20 homes by 5:30 p.m., he said.
   
Shickshinny and Larksville were hardest hit with 1,300 homes in Shickshinny
and 1,100 in Larksville losing power for more than two hours, he said.
   
About 300 homes in Kingston, 400 in Harveys Lake, and 100 in Plymouth
Township also lost power Tuesday afternoon, Rymar said.
   
Rymar said power was restored by 9 p.m. to 20 homes in the Church Road area
of Trucksville, Kingston Township.
   
Rymar said he did not have a cost estimate on the damage caused by the
storm.
   
UGI provides service to approximately 60,000 homes in sections of Luzerne
and Wyoming counties, Rymar said.
