    Peter D. Menghini Sr., of South Laurel Street, Hazleton, died Friday at
   
Geisinger Medical Center, DanvilleBorn in Hazleton, he was son of the late
Ludwig and Mary Rossi Menghini. He was the stepson of the late Ida Ferrari
Menghini.
   
He graduated from Hazleton High School in 1944, and Villanova University.
   
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
   
He was self-employed as a certified public accountant. He also was a
controller for Ateeco Corp., Shenandoah.
   
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church,
Hazleton, and its Holy Name Society. He also was inducted into the
Pennsylvania Trap Shooter’s Hall of Fame and Hazleton Bowling Hall of Fame.
   
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Sylvia Rossi; sons, the Rev.
Peter D. Menghini Jr., pastor of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church,
Wilkes-Barre; Michael J., Hazleton; Daniel P., Littleton, Colo.; a brother,
Ludwig, Hazleton; sisters Joan Yacobucci, Hazleton; Mary Theresa Segilia,
Emmaus; Bernadette Menghini, Millville, N.J.; two grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
   
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the John J. Pusti
Funeral Home, 480 W. Broad St., Hazleton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
   
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
   
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
