The National Stuttering Association (NSA): Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter at Misericordia University will hold the inaugural 5K run/walk, “Don’t Tell Me to Slow Down,” at 10 a.m.on Sunday, March 30 in support of the National Stuttering Association and the nationally recognized, student-run stuttering support group on campus.
The annual event will increase stuttering awareness, while also raising funds for NSA and the stuttering support group. Funds donated to NSA are used to produce national stuttering newsletters, brochures, booklets and online resources. The funding also will be used to sustain the NSA’s toll-free hotline (800-WE STUTTER), chapters, workshops, conferences, research, advocacy, and continuing education related to stuttering.
Registration on the day of the event is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Anderson Outdoor Athletic Complex located near the North Gate of campus. .Race day registration is $25, but those interested in participating in the event can pre-register until March 18 for $15 (students) and $20 (adults) by e-mailing, firstname.lastname@example.org.
