West Pittston 6
The Dallas Junior Mounts Cteam remained unbeaten on the year with a 28-6 victory over West Pittston.
Dallas won the toss and elected to receive. On the second play from scrimmage, Lucas Shultz took a toss to the right and went all the way down the sideline for a 70 yard touchdown. The 2-point conversion was no good and Dallas led, 6-0.
West Pittston came right, back putting together a seven-play touchdown drive and knotting the score at 6-6. On Dallas’ next possession, Shultz again took a pitch and went all the way to the end zone for a 58 -ard touchdown. He helped his own cause by adding the 2-point conversion and Dallas led, 14-6.
The Dallas defense stiffened and forced West Pittston to punt on its next possession. Dallas put together a nice scoring drive with Jared Adamski running the ball in for a 42-yard touchdown. Parker Bolesta added the 2-point conversion and Dallas led, 22-6 ,at halftime.
In the second half, it was all Dallas’ defense as it shut down West Pittston. Leading the Dallas defense were Ryan Cuba, Alex Hajikowski , Lucas Shultz and Matthew Esposito.
Jared Adamski added one more Dallas touchdown in the second half to cap the scoring.
The Dallas Junior Mount C team earned a dominating 30-12 victory over previously-undefeated Swoyersville.
The Sailors received the opening kickoff and their offense got to the Dallas 18 before the drive stalled. Dallas took over on offense and went on an 82-yard scoring drive, capped off with a Jared Adamski touchdown. The drive was highlighted by excellent downfield blocking from Nick Spencer, Jared Adamski, Mitch Burgess and Alex Hajikowski. Burgess added the 2-point conversion and Dallas held an early 8-0 lead.
After a Swoyersville 3 and out, Dallas took possession and again methodically drove the ball down the field. Burgess had a huge gain on a sweep, nearly making it to the endzone. Alex Hajikowski finished the drive with a TD. Hajikowski ran in the conversion and Dallas led, 16-0.
On Swoyersville’s next possession, Sailors QB Jake Griffen was intercepted by cornerback Burgess who returned the interception to the Swoyersville 1-yard line. The Junior Mount offense took over and Alex Hajikowski bulled his way into the end one. The 2-point conversion was successful and Dallas led, 24-0.
The Sailors got on the board before halftime with a long TD pass and Dallas led, 24-6, at half time.
Dallas got the ball to start the second half and added another Hajikowski touchdown; the conversion was no good and Dallas led, 30-6 .
The Dallas defense stymied the Sailors potent outside running attack all day. Corners Matt Esposito, Burgess, outside linebackers Luke Shultz, Jace Chopyak and Mark Karcutskie did an excellent job of containing the Sailors . Inside linebackers ajikowski and Ayden Berndt made several tackles behind the line.
Swoyersville added one more score in the waning seconds of the game.
West Pittston 14
The Dallas Junior Mounts moved to 6-0 on the season, despite a late surge by the West Pittston Rams.
A strong defensive front made up of Logan Geskey, Noah Greco Dalton Robbins, Charlie Stephens and Luke Hajkowski held the Rams scoreless for the first half. Mason Calvey was all over the field making tackles on a tough Rams running game, finishing the game with a 24-14 win.
The Junior Mounts offense was led by Nate Malarkey, Lucas Tirpak and Dylan Geskey in the backfield. The O-Line (Bryce Casey, Michael Elgonitis, Dalton Hislop, Aaron Patton, Colby Powell and Archie Stephens) paved the way for the trio of backs.
