Nanticoke police released a surveillance picture of a man suspected in robbing Cocoa Hut Convenience Store on North Market Street late Monday night. Submitted photo.

NANTICOKE — City police are working with police in Plymouth to determine if the same suspect robbed the Cocoa Hut Convenience Store in Nanticoke and Dunkin Donuts in Plymouth late Monday night.

Police in Nanticoke said a white man with his face concealed by a black bandana and his head covered with a white bandana ran into Cocoa Hut on North Market Street at about 10 p.m. The suspect displayed a handgun at a clerk saying, “I don’t want to hurt you honey, just give me all the cash,” police said.

The clerk removed the cash drawer from the register and placed it on the counter. Police said the suspect removed the cash and ran out the store.

Police described the suspect as having short brown hair with sideburns, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, stocky and muscular build, and wore black gloves, a long sleeve black shirt, white sneakers with shades of red and black, and basketball style shorts. The shorts were black in the back, gray in the front and had a red colored stripe on both sides.

About 30 minutes before the robbery in Nanticoke, a man armed with a handgun held up Dunkin Donuts on East Main Street in Plymouth. Police said the suspect in the Dunkin Donuts heist concealed his face with a red bandana, and a hooded sweatshirt with an Under Amour logo on the chest.
