JACKSON TWP. — Two public announcements were made during a regular meeting held by the board of supervisors Monday night at the municipal building.

A meeting will be held with the fire department on Aug. 4 to discuss personnel matters. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the municipal building and will be attended by supervisors and Fire Chief Dan Manzoni.

Also, a cost-sharing program organized by Luzerne County with the state will allow for gypsy moth spraying in the area in 2016. Presently, a cost has not been set for residents seeking the service, though in 2014 the cost was $26 per acre.

Luzerne County Program Coordinator Keri Skvarla said a public information session will be scheduled and those interested should contact her after July 15, following her meeting with state representatives, at 570-820 – 6347.

In other business, Police Chief James Balavage will prepare and advertise a job description and requirements for police officer positions in the township.
