Rain is possible today, but sunshine and hotter temperatures will soon return to the Wyoming Valley.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 67 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with partly cloudy skies kicking off the day.

Partly sunny are expected today, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Some storms could produce heavy rain, but less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected overall. Today’s high will be near 84.

Mostly clear skies are expected tonight, along with patchy fog after 2 a.m. Tonight’s low will be around 64.

Patchy fog will be possible before 9 a.m. on Tuesday — otherwise, sunny skies are expected, with a high near 89.

Clear skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 67.

Sunny skies are expected for Wednesday, with a high near 93. Clear skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 71.
