It is shaping up to be a wet week in NEPA, with just a small break from the rain on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 67 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with clear skies kicking off the day.

Clouds are expected to increase throughout the day, before showers and thunderstorms take over this evening. Today’s high will be near 87 degrees.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight, mainly before 10 p.m. Some storms could produce gusty winds. Rainfall amounts of up to a half an inch are possible. Tonight’s low will be around 62.

Rain will continue Tuesday with a slight chance of showers before 7 a.m., followed by a chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Otherwise, partly sunny with a high near 79.

A chance of showers is again likely on Tuesday night, with a low around 58.

Mostly sunny skies are expected on Wednesday, with a high near 76. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with the temperature dropping to around 57 degrees.

A chance of showers returns on Thursday and continues into the weekend.
