State police at Wyoming are investigating missing money at Wyoming Valley Country Club, a private golf course in Hanover Township.

The investigation commenced in May shortly after a complaint was filed about money missing from the club, Lt. Richard Krawetz said Tuesday.

The exclusive golf course is closed to the general public. Potential members are nominated by senior members and must be approved by the executive board of directors.

The club also accepts social members through an application process.

Krawetz said the investigation is “ongoing.”

No charges have been filed.

It was not known who filed the complaint or how much money is missing, but two club members said they heard nearly $100,000 is unaccounted for.

Vincent Tassitano, who is listed as president of the board of directors, could not be reached for comment on Tuesday. A number for Tassitano at his Florida residence is out of service.

Attempts to contact Randy Park, the former general manager who left in 2014, were unsuccessful.

No search warrants for the club or financial institutions have been filed with District Judge Joseph Halesey in Hanover Township.

It was not immediately known if any search warrants have been sealed by a Luzerne County judge and filed in the county Clerk of Courts Office.

According to the club’s 2012 Internal Revenue Service Form 990 for income tax exemption, the latest year available, the club reported $2.53 million in revenue with $4 million in assets. Revenue from membership dues totaled $1.23 million and listed salaries and wages at $1.06 million in 2012.
