A slight chance for rain will return to the Wyoming Valley today, but sunshine and hot temperatures will return for the new week.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 64 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies kicking off the day.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, but there will be a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon today. The high will be near 83.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, along with a 20 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. Tonight’s low will be around 65.

Mostly sunny skies will kick off the new week on Monday, with a high near 85. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Monday night, with a low around 64.

Mostly sunny skies will stick around for Tuesday, with a high near 88. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Tuesday night, with a low around 63.
