Sunshine will generally dominate the forecast this week, but there will be some opportunities for rain.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 70 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies kicking off the new week.

Areas of fog are possible before 10 a.m. this morning, and isolated showers are possible after 1 p.m. today. Otherwise, partly sunny skies are expected, and the high will be near 86.

Isolate showers will be possible before 9 p.m. tonight, but partly cloudy skies are expected otherwise. The low will be near 64.

Sunny skies are expected for Tuesday, with a high near 87. Clear skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 64.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, along with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. The high will be near 90.

Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Wednesday night, along with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m. The low will be around 66.
