Some scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible as the week comes to an end.

For the most part, however, the Wyoming Valley should continue to enjoy warm temperatures and sunshine into the Labor Day weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 72 degrees as of 8:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. today — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected. The high will be near 87.

Partly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with patchy fog after 1 a.m. Tonight’s low will be around 67.

Isolate showers and thunderstorms will be possible between 10 a.m. and noon on Friday, with mostly cloudy skies expected otherwise. The high will be near 82.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 62.

Sunny skies will return on Saturday, with a high near 80. Mostly clear skies will follow on Saturday night, with a low around 59.

Sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 86. Clear skies will follow into Sunday night, with a low around 60.

Sunny skies are expected for Labor Day on Monday, with a high near 88. Clear skies will carry over into Monday night, with a low around 64.
