DURYEA — The Borough Street Department will be closed Monday.

Garbage will be collected one day late. Yard waste collection will begin April 5.

LUZERNE — The borough recently announced the following meetings for April:

Sewer Authority monthly meeting, Tuesday at 7 p.m.; Borough Council work session, April 3 at 7 p.m.; month council meeting, April 10 at 7 p.m. All meetings are held at the Borough Building, 144 Academy St., and are open to the public.

Borough residents are reminded that yard waste pickup will begin Monday for those with a current garbage sticker and will continue every other week until Aug. 20. Yard waste should be in an open container not exceeding 30 pounds. No bags will be accepted. Brush must be tied in bundles no longer than 3 feet. Waste must be curbside by 6 a.m.

PLYMOUTH — The borough says there will be no parking on Main Street today from midnight to 8 a.m. due to street sweeping.

DURYEA — The Sewer Authority will mail invoices the first week of April.

Those not receiving a bill by April 5 should call the authority at 570-457-0122. The amount due is $25 per quarter or $100 annually, and must be paid by April 30.

After April 30, a 10 percent penalty will be applied. Every quarter after that there will also be a 1.5 percent fee compiled on the total charge for each month until the bill is paid in full.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and noon to 3 p.m. Refunds for the maintenance fee of $50, rescinded at the Sewer Authority meeting on March 4, will be sent to those residents who paid it in advance.

The next meeting for the Sewer Authority is Monday at 7 p.m. at the municipal building and is open to the public.
