DURYEA — Police retrieved 97 bags of heroin and made multiple arrests following a road rage investigation in Duryea on Oct. 30.

Tafsir Harris, 22, of Duryea, Tyler Vandermark, 19, of Pittston, and Tyler Strok, 20, of Pittston were taken into custody Friday at 5:03 p.m. A 8-month-old child was, in the same vehicle, was taken to Children and Youth.

According to the police report a Vandermark, the driver of a black Toyota passed and nearly hit a red Nissan pickup truck at the intersection of Main and Phoenix streets. The Nissan repeated the aggressive act to the Toyota. Police Chief Nicholas A. Lohman and Officer Charles Swisher witnessed the two vehicles while stopped at a traffic signal at the same intersection.

The altercation between the two vehicles occurred near three road construction workers. They were almost hit by the vehicles, according to the police report.

Officer Swisher and Lohman, stopped both vehicles in the 100 block of Main Street.

Officers “observed two bags of heroin fall out of Vandermark’s pant leg of his shorts,” during the road rage investigation, police reported.

Passenger, Strok, had six, 60-pack bundles of heroin and six loose packs of heroin. Rear passenger, Harris, a potential Blood gang member was taken into custody and later found with “three, 29-pack bundles of heroin in plastic bags stuffed down his pants,” according to the incident report.

Magistrate Paul J. Roberts in Kingston arraigned the three men and placed on a $50,000 straight bail or Bondsman. They were taken to the Luzerne County Prison. A preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 4.

The driver of the red Nissan pickup was cited for the road rage incident.
