COURTDALE — Police said marijuana, a knife, a baseball bat and cash were among items seized during a DUI checkpoint stop Wednesday night.

Police said a white sedan with an expired inspection sticker approached the checkpoint with a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. Three males were taken into custody and transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. One of the males, a juvenile, was released.

Police did not identify individuals arrested.

Officers said they observed in plain view a rolled blunt in the center console of the vehicle.

Una, the Larksville police K-9, was deployed and began searching the vehicle. Una indicated suspected marijuana in the front seats and floor of the vehicle. Una also indicated the trunk area of the vehicle, where cops found a large plastic container filled 44 packets of marijuana, police said.

Charges are expected to be filed.
