WILKES-BARRE — Police say what was initially a littering violation on Wednesday turned into two Edwardsville men facing drug charges.

Police said the incident happened at Coal and Meade streets at 4 p.m. and involved Edwin Lewis, 54, and Michael Moore, 30, both of Edwardsville. Police determined that one of the men was wanted and a subsequent search resulted in police allegedly finding three bricks of heroin.

The police report did not specify which man was wanted by police or who was allegedly in possession of the heroin.

Court documents indicate that Lewis is charged with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of an instrument of crime with intent and false identification to law enforcement.

A court docket for Moore was not immediately available.

Lewis was arraigned on his charges before Magisterial District Judge Thomas Malloy on Wednesday, and is scheduled to appear before Malloy for a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. on Feb. 11.
