Sunshine is expected to wrap up the weekend today, but snow is expected as the new week progresses.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 25 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 46. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 28.

Clouds are expected to increase on Monday, and there will be a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m. The high will be near 40.

Cloudy skies will carry into Monday night, with a chance of rain and snow before 7 p.m. Snow showers will become likely as the night progresses, and an inch of snow accumulation is possible. The low will be around 24.

Snow showers will once again be likely on Tuesday, but no precipitation amounts have yet been predicted. The high will be near 35.

Cloudy skies are predicted for Tuesday night, along with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. The low will be around 27.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Wednesday, along with a 40 percent chance of snow showers. The high will be near 34. Those mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 18.
