WILKES-BARRE — Local and federal law enforcement officials took individuals from a Charles Street home into custody Tuesday afternoon.

Some individuals were seen being taken into custody. Two children were seen being removed from the scene as well.

“ATF was out there with Wilkes-Barre police at 163 Charles St. this afternoon conducting an enforcement action,” according to Special Agent Steve Bartholomew, with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

“There were no injuries, the scene is secure and there was no danger to the public. It was part of an ongoing enforcement action related to an investigative matter that we are working with the Wilkes-Barre Police Department,” Bartholomew said in a voice mail message.

A follow-up message to Bartholomew requesting additional information on the identities of suspects and any charges filed was not immediately returned.
