WEST PITTSTON — Police have announced that they have apprehended Tracyann Franklin.

Franklin, 34, was apprehended last night and arraigned on the charges of theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

Police announced Monday they were seeking Franklin’s whereabouts, and said she was a suspect in a March 9 theft that allegedly occurred near the Montgomery Avenue Elementary School in West Pittston.

She was previously charged in January with hindering the apprehension of accused serial robber Joseph Lombardo. Police said she and Lombardo’s brother, Vincent Lombardo, drove the 39-year-old to East Stroudsburg and dropped him off, later denying to police any knowledge of his location.

After leading police on a high-speed chase, Joe Lombardo on Jan. 26 was arrested and charged for his alleged role in a string of at least four armed robberies in Pittston, Avoca and Hanover Township. In one heist, Lombardo allegedly brandished a handgun and struck a cashier. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Thursday in county court.

Franklin posted $10,000 bail on Jan. 28, court records show.

Court documents indicate she was arraigned on her charges Thursday and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Joseph Carmody at 9 a.m. on May 11.

She is being held on $25,000 bail at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
