A rain-filled weekend is expected for the Wyoming Valley.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 43 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, overcast skies reported.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected today, with a high near 62. Rain will move into the area overnight with a low around 44. There is a 60 percent chance of rain. A quarter of an inch of rain may fall.

On Sunday, the high will be near 53 with a 100 percent chance of rain and another quarter of an inch of rain possible. Sunday night, the rain will taper off to scattered showers after 8 p.m. The low will be around 46.

Scattered showers will stay in the are on Monday.
