WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Comedian Louis C.K. is coming to the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on June 8.

The comic, who was born Louis Szekely (the stage name is basically a phonetic pronunciation he came up with to help people stop mispronouncing his name), moved with his family from Mexico to Boston when he was 7. He got his start as a stand-up at open-mic nights in Boston in the early 1980s and has been honing his skills ever since.

“I used to try to think up things that were funny,” he said. “Now it’s just unfiltered thoughts from inside my head.”

Szekely is also an actor, writer, director and producer. He has written for David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Dana Carvey, Cedric The Entertainer and Chris Rock.

According to his website, all tickets are $50 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
