NANTICOKE — Three men and a juvenile face multiple charges after they allegedly kicked the door of an Apollo Circle residence and damaged a car parked in front of it in apparent retaliation for the failure of the resident’s son to pay for heroin he had purchased.

City police on Saturday received a report of three males at the Apollo Circle residence asking for the resident’s son sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. The resident, believing the visit was drug related, asked the males, “How much does he owe you?” and one of the males replied that her son put her whole family in jeopardy because he owes them $200 for a heroin purchase.

The woman reported that the men each held one of their arms behind their back as they spoke to her and she believed they had weapons upon making the threat, police said.

The woman told police she pleaded with the men that if they came back on Monday, she would give them the $200. A male told her they would be back on Monday, but if they did not receive their money, they would not care who they had to hurt or kill, as well as destroy the property, police said.

A 911 call at 1:55 p.m. Monday prompted Nanticoke police to return to the residence for a report of three males there, and a neighbor witnessing one or more of the males loudly threaten to damage the vehicles in front of the residence. The neighbor described the males as black or Hispanic, with one of them wearing dread locks and another wearing a “do rag.”

When no one answered the door, the three males left, and the officers who arrived afterward made no contact with occupants at the residence, police said.

The same neighbor again called 911 at about 5:29 p.m. the same day, advising that the same males returned with an additional two or three males, and that they slashed all four tires and smashed the windshield of a gold-colored vehicle parked in front of the residence, and tried to gain entry at the front door of the residence by kicking it several times, police said.

Witnesses also reported that the males stated, “We are gonna shoot this place up, and we’ll destroy this whole block.” Witnesses added that there were children on the sidewalk and in yards not more than five feet away when the men damaged the parked vehicle, requiring them to move the children inside to safety, police said.

Upon arrival, officers Amos Vanderhoff and Michael Derwin were told the subjects had recently fled in a silver-colored Honda. Officers observed damage to the front door and door lock of the residence and also observed damage to the gold-colored car.

Shortly afterward, officers were alerted that Newport Township police had stopped the fleeing vehicle within their jurisdiction.

Police said one or more of the occupants provided false and conflicting information regarding their identities, and two knives were found in the occupant areas of the vehicle.

With the assistance of Pennsylvania State Police and Rice Township police, officers removed the occupants from the vehicle and transported them to the PSP barracks in Shickshinny, where a Livescan of the males’ fingerprints positively verified their identities.

They were identified as Ramon Antenioencavncio, 20, of New York, Enrique Bacilio, 19, of Wilkes Barre, Alberto Matias, 20, of New York and a 17 year old male from New York.

Police said officers attempted to question each of the subjects about the incident at Apollo Circle, and each denied being present and refused to cooperate with police.

Based on the facts, observations, video footage, written statements, and evidence obtained, police said, the following charges were filed on all subjects: one felony count each of burglary and criminal trespass, three misdemeanor counts of stalking, two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, and one misdemeanor count each of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

The three adults were taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for overnight arraignment and the juvenile was transported to the Northhampton County Juvenile Detention Center. District Judge David Barilla set bail for each at $15,000. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for 1 p.m. May 18 before District Judge Donald Whittaker.
