WILKES-BARRE — A city man was arrested Friday night for giving false police reports.
Police say Christopher Journos, 23, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested after he placed a phone call to 911 reporting three males had just shot into a white Mercedes and fled to the rear of Burlington Coat Factory.
The call prompted 9-1-1 dispatchers to send several Wilkes-Barre City and Wilkes-Barre Township police units to the scene.
Officers found no evidence of any shooting, but discovered Jounos watching from across the street.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of false reports and one count each of false alarms and reckless endangering.
