PLAINS TWP. — Police are searching for a man accused of robbing the Valley Mart on this morning.

Police said that at 11:51 a.m. Friday, police were dispatched to the store at 240 South River St. for a report of an armed robbery. The clerk reported to police a man entered the store and demanded cash.

The man allegedly threatened the clerk with a syringe and fled with cash. The police report did not indicate how much money the man allegedly got away with.

The man is described as a white, 6 feet tall, in his mid 40s and with a stocky build and gray facial hair.

The man was last seen wearing sunglasses, a red baseball cap, a gray shirt, khaki cargo shorts and white sneakers.

Police added that the baseball cap appeared to have a large “D” on it.

The man was last seen driving an older model tan or silver car, which was possibly a Buick Century.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Plains Township Police Department at 570-829-3432.
